You can, alternatively, turn off Documents In The Cloud and save files locally to the app. But in either case it appears directly inside the Pages app, rather than in an external storage system. Documents In The Cloud enables you to open the same document, using the same app, on different devices. Documents are not stored globally on the i. Pad because i. OS has no equivalent of the Finder. Instead, they are stored locally in the app, and then synced to the cloud. One side effect of this is that you dont store Pages documents inside a folder with other files, like images, charts, PDFs, text notes, and so on. Its kept isolated inside Pages apps you can, share files, of course. This is generally a pain for anybody who currently has a workflow that includes grouping items together in Folders. Drive always made more immediate sense to us than Apples Documents In The Cloud, but Apples new i. Cloud Drive system has brought the two systems together. Both One. Drive and i. Cloud Drive place a corresponding folder on a Mac computer to access files, and files are synced and stored across devices. Where One. Drive has a distinct edge over i. Cloud Drive is its generous free storage amount. You get 1. 5 GB of free space for signing up with One. Drive, and another 1. GB if you connect your Camera Roll to One. Drive you can disconnect it later and keep the storage. Dropbox offers 2. GB of free storage, and currently offers 1. TB for 7. 9. 9 per month. Feature wise, we think Dropbox is the better cloud storage solution overall. So One. Drive offers you 3. GB of free storage compared to Apples 5 GB of free storage in i. Cloud Drive. And with i. Cloud Drive you share that with your i. OS device backups and, if you have i. Cloud Photo Library Beta turned on you also share it with photos.
